Andon Real Example – Toyota

The video explains the Jidoka concept within the Toyota Production System, highlighting the process of stopping production to address issues.

If a problem arises, a worker presses a call button, which lights a yellow lamp on the Andon board and triggers an alert.

A leader then rushes to resolve the issue. If not resolved within a certain timeframe, the production line stops, and the Andon lamp turns red. Once resolved, the leader presses the call button again, resuming production.

This method ensures that any defects are addressed immediately, allowing the vehicle to progress through production without flaws.
